10 Great Games with TERRIBLE DLC

5. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

When it comes to bonus features for Call of Duty, it should be easy to satisfy the fanbase. By throwing together a few new maps, missions, weapons, and modes, players should be willing to pay up.

Although Modern Warfare 2 was a monumental hit, it was marred with controversy (and not just for the No Russian mission). Firstly, the story-related DLC is pretty much non-existent. Instead of getting mission expansions or different campaigns, the added content focused almost entirely on multiplayer.

Now, that wouldn't be so bad, at least in theory. Too bad many maps from the first downloadable batch, the Stimulus Package, are rehashes from Call of Duty 4. Due to the backlash, the developers should've been a lot more cautious the next time.

On the contrary, they pulled the same stunt with the Resurgence Package, repackaging more maps from COD 4. (They could've at least ripped off a different instalment this time.)

The Stimulus and Resurgence Packages would be deemed mediocre if they were free, so it's understandable how negative the reception was when COD players learned they paid for a slight variation of familiar maps.
