10 Great Video Games That Are Way Too Short

6. Metroid Dread - 5 Hours

Nemesis Resident Evil 3
Nintendo

Metroid Dread received universal acclaim, due to its focus on fear, tight mechanics, and expansive lore. Samus Aran's latest outing went on to sell three million units, finally dethroning Metroid Prime as the best-selling entry in the series.

Too bad this Switch exclusive is disappointingly only takes four or five hours to complete. Now, because other 2D Metroid titles take around the same length of time to win, fans shouldn't have been too surprised by Dread's curtness.

But there are a few reasons why this long-awaited sequel should've been as long as the Metroid Prime entries. Unlike the last few instalments, Dread wasn't on a handheld system, but Nintendo's latest console. Because the Switch can handle vast titles like Breath of the Wild, it's a shame a game based on one of Nintendo's most iconic properties didn't contain more content. Also, it's cheeky to ask customers to pay top-dollar for a game that can be comfortably beaten in a few days.

Now, the developers could be forgiven if something worthwhile was unlocked by repeatedly beating the main campaign. Sadly, all players are rewarded with by finishing Metroid Dread under certain conditions is some artwork.

Yay.
