10 Great Video Games That Are Way Too Short

4. Resident Evil 3 Remake - 6 Hours

After the financial and critical success of Resident Evil 2 Remake, giving Resident Evil 3 the same treatment seemed logical.

Although the first two instalments in the beloved zombie series offered two separate campaigns, RE3 had a singular story mode, which garnered criticism. As a result, it would've been wise for the RE3 reimagining to feature extra material, much like how Resident Evil Remake implemented 80% new content.

To be fair, 2020's Resident Evil 3 is longer than its predecessor, since it introduces and expands many sections. Unfortunately, this do-over is still quite terse, since it omits areas from the original, including the park and the clock tower. Based on GameRevolution, players can comfortably complete RE3 Remake in six hours. Hell, it's not even hard to beat the game in under two hours with an S ranking.

Now, that's not suggesting this recreation isn't without merit. Not only does RE3 Remake recapture the terror of the precursor, the combat has been refined, including a new dodge mechanic, which adds a fresh new layer of strategy to the gameplay. Far more focus is put on character development, making players heavily invested in the story. On top of all that, the main antagonist, Nemesis, has never been more terrifying.

But because the RE2 Remake provided so much additional content, it feels like Capcom took a step back by not doing the same with the follow-up.
