10 Greatest Ever Final Fantasy Summons

3. Odin

Similarly to Leviathan, Odin's appearance is taken straight out of religious mythology, with the Final Fantasy regular matching the description of the Norse God almost exactly, though Sleipnir, his horse, often varies it's number of legs between 6 and 8.

Since FFIII, Odin has carried his enormous sword into battle, instant killing most enemies with his Zantetsuken attack, or causing high damage to those enemies immune to instant death.

Odin often requires a battle to test your might before he will join the party, but rather than Ifrit and Leviathan's arrogance, it is more a test of your worthiness as a warrior deserved of his talents. He is a much more silent and efficient killer than most other summons – well, until he meets Seifer in FFVIII, anyway.
