2. Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3

Quite literally the best version of the best Marvel Vs. Capcom game, Ultimate MVC3 is a spectacular entry in the beloved franchise.

Essentially a game of the year edition of the original Fate of Two Worlds title, Ultimate not only provides certain quality of life fixes and upgrades, but also throws twelve brand new characters into the fold, increasing the roster from thirty-six to an impressive forty-eight.

Such new characters as Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Phoenix Wright, and Frank West (of Dead Rising fame) add a ton of replay value, and would even be an enticing prospect to players who already own Fate of Two Worlds.

Gameplay-wise, the title follows the tried and tested formula of previous franchise entries, sticking with the three on three, swap in, swap out structure which has served so well for years now.

All of the series' best modes are here, too, including the obvious Arcade and Versus modes, but the title also includes "Heroes and Heralds". Essentially, this is a single and/or multiplayer, team-based mode in which can upgrade cards and level up their stats, all the while trying to either defending the Earth, or destroy it as a herald of Galactus.

An absolute classic and powerhouse of the genre.
