10 Greatest Ever Video Game DLC That Didn't Steal Your Money

9. Tiny Tina€™s Assault On Dragon Keep - Borderlands 2

Adorable for some, intolerable for others, Tiny Tina is a character guaranteed to make a big impression on just about anyone who plays Borderlands. The psychotic thirteen-year-old demolitions expert works with the player through several of the missions, but you never get much insight about her until the wonderfully imaginative and surprisingly poignant Assault on Dragon Keep DLC. The whole thing takes place in the violent-child-like imagination of Tiny Tina, who tells the tale as a 'Bunker Master' for a game of Bunkers and Badasses (essentially the ultra-violent Pandora version of Dungeons and Dragons). As such, the player gets pitted against orcs, skeletons, and other fantastical creatures, while being tossed around a chaotic plot that's constantly changing thanks to Tina's teenage whims. This DLC is crude, overblown, and makes plenty of reverent nods to pen-and-paper RPGs. But beneath the craziness is a great plot too, as the whole fantasy essentially becomes about Tina coming to terms with a certain other character's death, who she constantly crowbars into the story much to the concern of the vault hunters playing the game with her. Borderlands and touching storytelling? Who'd have thought it...
