Another PC game ported to iOS, Plants vs. Zombies saw the player utilise a range of plants with varying capabilities to protect their home from a horde of zombies from entering the home and eating brains. Progressing in the game meant better plants and fungi to defend your home with, but also saw much harder horders of zombies to deal with. The fun and addictive nature of the tower defence game meant that Plants vs. Zombies received critical acclaim on its release in 2010, selling 300,000 copies on its first nine days on sale which made it one of the most successful launches on iOS. As with many other successes, creators PopCap Games created a number of sequels to the game as well as publishing the original on a range of different platforms, but Plants vs. Zombies remains the most popular on iOS.
