Another App Store hit, Tiny Wings followed in the footsteps of Angry Birds in featuring an avian protagonist. The aim of the game was to use hills to launch your flightless bird as far as possible, utilising its simple one-click controls to chain together consecutive slides. Innovative functions such as landscapes changing day-to-day also kept the game fresh and fun for gamers. The game also featured achievements, which could be unlocked to give your bird better nests and score multipliers in order to get higher scores on levels. The ease of play meant that Tiny Wings was a commercial success, selling over 10.5 million copies on iPhone and 1.8 million on iPad since its launch in 2011. It also highlighted the possibility of individual success on the App Store, as Tiny Wings was solely developed and published by digital game developer Andreas Illiger.
