10 Greatest Pokémon From Generation III

1. Salamence

373 Dragon/Flying Bagon - Shelgon - SALAMENCE Bagon becomes Shelgon at Level 30, Shelgon evolves into Salamence at Level 50 EFFECT: When sent out, any Pokémon with the effect INTIMIDATE lowers it's opponents Attack stat Salamence is the second pseudo-legendary Pokémon on this list and therefore the second one from Generation III (did you know only Generation III has more than one pseudo-legendary? Now you do). You all knew it was going to be on this list because it's simply epic. In my humble opinion, I believe Charizard is the only Pokémon above Salamence in terms of sheer epicness (yes, I've used a made-up word to describe them both). Salamence may be cool but it's by no means easy to train. For starters, there's that hideously high Level 50 evolution point AND it's pretty hard to find Bagon in the first place. If you fancy the challenge then head over to Meteor Falls west of Fallabor Town - but make sure you have a Pokémon which knows Waterfall because you'll need it to explore the necessary part of the cave. Bagon is pretty uncommon but if you search hard enough you'll find one. Now on to Salamence's power. Well, Salamence benefits from excellent HP, enormous Attack and mega Special Attack stats which make it awesome at knocking opponents out in one foul swoop. Salamence's Defence and Special Defence stats are much lower than it's Attack but not low enough to cause any concern. So, what kind of moves can the almighty Salamence learn? Naturally learned moves include Dragonbreath, Fly, Double Edge, Crunch and Dragon Claw which are great on their own but Salamence finds even more firepower from Technical Machine's such as Hyper Beam, Earthquake, Iron Tail, Flamethrower, Fire Blast and Steel Wing. This means Salamence finds a way to be strong against most enemies such as Grass, Rock, Ice, Dragon, Poison, Steel and most other types. Salamence's incredible Attack power also makes it the ideal hit and run Pokémon (like Pikachu is from Generation I - as I eluded to in my previous article). One thing did always bug me about Salamence though - do it's predecessors a.k.a Bagon and Shelgon not sound like they need to paired with Flygon instead of Salamence? They have much more similar names - just a thought. To sum up, Salamence is ferocious looking, one of the most powerful Pokémon ever and it's super rare. I think it is therefore a fitting Number 1 on our list of the 10 Greatest Pokémon From Generation III. Thanks for reading! Do you agree with our choices?
