If there’s one universal experience each Dark Souls player knows all too well, it is the feeling of losing all of your hard-earned Souls on a sudden and really dumb death.

Dark Souls is a game that gives and takes. Taking down a big boss can grant you a ton of souls for leveling up your character, but earning them is actually half the battle.

The other half is making it to the Fire Keeper.

Far too many souls have been lost due to players suddenly dying on their way to a safe location where they can spend them. All it takes is one dumb mistake or an enemy that lunges at you out of nowhere, and you can lose all of your souls in the snap of your fingers.

Most of the time, the game will allow you to pick them up where you died, but every Dark Souls player can attest that they have definitely had moments when they have died on the way to the death spot, too.

If that happens, there is no way to get the souls back. You just lose out on a huge boost to your character and have to grind for it instead.
