10 Hardest Video Game Bosses That Required Incredible Skill
8. The End - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
It’s pretty common knowledge nowadays that players can beat Metal Gear 3’s sniper antagonist, The End, by starting the battle, saving, turning the game off, and returning a week later. Hilariously, if this is done, The End will have died of old age. (He is over 100 years old, to be fair.)
However, if you want to beat him honestly, so that you can live with yourself, it’s going to be a little trickier. The End occupies a huge woodland area, popping off tranquiliser rounds at Snake, seemingly from nowhere. With each round Snake takes his hands become shakier, which is hardly ideal when trying to operate a sniper rifle with precision accuracy. Snake also needs to spend time digging The End’s darts out of his body in order to remain conscious.
The End has a pet parrot who can locate Snake, giving him a much stronger advantage when it comes to hunting his prey. This parrot can be gunned down, making The End more visible on Snake’s radar, but your opponent will attack more aggressively in response. This is an extremely tense game of cat and mouse that only the most skilled of sharpshooters will be able to overcome.
For the rest of us, we're probably better just cheating his age, to be honest.
