10 Hated Video Games That Are AWESOME Now
2. Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons Of Liberty
In the grand scheme of things, armed with hindsight and a fresh perspective, it makes sense now why Kojima made the changes he did, and why MGS2 is just an integral part of the story as the other Metal Gear Solid.
That definitely wasn't the case when we found out we had to play as Raiden for a good 80% of the game though. No, fans were not happy that their beloved Solid Snake had been sidelined for most of the game, especially after that exceptional tanker opening.
Now some nineteen years on, Metal Gear Solid 2 is regarded quite highly in the series, despite the occasional protestations about said character swap. Still regarded as an impressive technical feat for its time, with fans still finding new little quirks as they go, it gets more love nowadays than it used to.
That being said, the hatred towards Raiden gave us the redesign for MGS4, as well as a surprisingly decent spin-off in Revengeance.
And if this logic doesn't work, at least we can all say, "Well, it's a damn sight better than Survive".
