10 Hated Video Games That Broke Fans
2. Madden NFL 21
There are some gaming franchises like WWE or FIFA that release a new game annually. Although this strategy is to maintain consistency, it tends to backfire. WWE 2K20 and FIFA 21 were havens for glitches because the developers gave themselves an unrealistic mandate rather than take their time.
Another franchise known for this practice is EA Sports' Madden NFL. Even though this American football series rushes out a new game every year, each entry manages to stay pretty solid.
However, that lucky streak ran out with Madden NFL 21. Apart from the core gameplay, it feels like the developers half-assed every other factor. Not only are there a rampant amount of bugs, there are disappointingly few features. The character models and animations look close to real life from a distance but resemble creepy Uncanny Valley dolls when seen up close. Mistakes like this are so apparent, you know the developers were aware of them but released the game anyway purely to meet their deadline.
NFL 22 was an unmistakable improvement but many players didn't check it out since EA Sports mishandled the previous entry.
