10 "Hated" Video Games You Should Play In 2019
8. Rainbox Six: Siege
You can't have a list of bare bones content and in-game purchases without Ubisoft, who thought the EA business model was a good thing to follow up on.
Once a sequel/continuation of the R6: Vegas games, single player was dropped in favour of a competitive, team based shooter. Whilst not a completely terrible shocking idea, it was Ubi's "game as a service" approach that irked fans. Cleverly worded to disguise that the game was released in dribs and drabs, tainted with the stank of season passes and about eight different release versions, it wasn't long until fans got bored.
Three and a half years later, Siege has turned this concept from a crutch to a cocky stride. Now bolstering a large roster of operators, R6: Siege is one of the most played competitive FPS for some. Yes, it still has loot packs and in-game purchases, but these are cosmetic.
The meat of the game is there, offering a rewarding and tactical experience over the whizzbang affairs of COD's and battle royales flooding the market.
