10 Hidden Gems On Nintendo Switch

7. Subsurface Circular & Quarantine Circular

OK, so technically this is two games, but they're both short enough to warrant a singular spot.

Subsurface Circular and Quarantine Circular come from the mind of Mike Bithell, the visionary developer behind Thomas Was Alone and the upcoming John Wick: Hex. The games are, essentially, conversation simulators set in a futuristic world with androids. You play as a police android who can't leave a train, and you must speak to each new robot that enters the train and learn more information.

What initially appears to be quite a one-note experience, slowly wraps you up in a mystery that you're desperate to see through until the end. And, continuing on a theme on this list, Subsurface Circular actually has lots of noir storytelling motifs. That means we have a story that starts off rather small-scale, before ballooning into something much bigger and more important in the grand scheme. And that's where Quarantine Circular comes in.

The second game continues the story of the first, while expanding upon it in fitting ways. The two games together combine for a very enjoyable experience that only lasts a combined four hours, but is one unlike anything else out there. A great sci-fi tale.
