9. Yakuza 0 - 85

Yakuza 0
Sega

The finest Yakuza of them all (and the one to recommend if you're looking to get into the franchise now that Yakuza 6 is out), Yakuza 0 showed a marked confidence from Sega and their dedicated Yakuza team that pours of every second.

From the satisfying impact of landing a few haymakers to investing time in the game's surprisingly addictive empire building mechanics, this prequel took the flash and flair of 1980s Japan and injected it with the series signature quirk.

The script is equally hilarious and badass, seeing main-man Kazuma Kiryu and regular antagonist/loveable anti-hero Majima embark on yet another tale of factional disputes, family honour and a TON of face-punching. Yakuza has always excelled as a fun, arcady brawler, and 0 brings in even more signature Heat actions: the ability to thwack goons off various parts of the environment, into walls, straight through debris or anything in between.

A rollout of content only matches by the bustling metropolis that is its Kamurocho setting, playing Yakuza 0 is one of the most non-stop fun experiences you can have.
