Magic: The Gathering cards can be, and have been, reprinted multiple times over the games' decades-long history. It wasn't until the sixth printing of Inspiration in the Return to Ravnica set in 2012 that the card managed to hit its comedic stride.
The card tells the story of an Izzet League Prime Izmagnus striving for a new breakthrough in their experiments. Artist Izzy Medrano does a great job capturing the moment of the supposed breakthrough. It isn't until we reach the flavour text that we discover that things may have gone... poorly for them. We see in their journal that they may not be able to stop what they started.
