10 Horror Video Game Sequels BETTER Than The Original
5. Left 4 Dead 2
When it comes to remembering the Left 4 Dead franchise, does anyone not think of Left 4 Dead 2 first? This game truly felt like the series' primary instalment, and it was a massive success thanks to its compelling four-player set-up, awesome zombie action, and exhilarating gameplay.
Left 4 Dead put you into the shoes of one of four protagonists after a massive zombie apocalypse as you and your team attempt to survive the onslaught of these rabid beasts. The second game was a direct continuation of this concept, but it came with stronger graphics, new melee/firearm weapons, and massive replayability.
Sitting down with your friends - albeit not always in the same room - and going to town on some zombie foes was an easy time killer, and the absence of skill progression and the like meant that the title never got boring. Your character's never improved outside of your skills at the game, which meant that the more you put in, the more you got.
While the sequel didn't necessarily change anything from the formula, it was still more bombastic, memorable and violent than it's original.
