10 Horror Video Games That Desperately Need Sequels
3. Dead Space
When EA turn their attentions towards developing new IPs, they can actually be something pretty special. As the studio has more wealth to throw around than a handful of small countries, when it comes time to make an impact they're fairly reliable. When we left off EA was trying to mould Dead Space into more of a duck n' cover shooter like Gears of War, than the 'Resident Evil-in-space' we knew and loved from the first two. Simply doing an offshoot or reboot would solve that problem easily, removing the sour taste of the terrible third instalment - boss-battling a moon?! - and returning to what matters most; ammo-starved white-knuckle horror. At the end of the day we all fell in love with Dead Space's overall feeling of isolation amongst locations where there was nowhere to run or hide, and with Alien: Isolation proving that's an untapped well of potential for horror fans, it's about time EA got back in the saddle recognising it.
