10 Hotly-Anticipated Video Games That Will Disappoint You In 2016
8. No Man's Sky
What will go wrong: "There's just nothing to DO." Sony's hype machine is a cruel mistress. One minute your game is being paraded out at press conferences and even mainstream talk shows as a way to guarantee people check it out within the standard 15 second attention-span that follows - then the next, it's been delayed more than once and suddenly we just want it over with. The paradigm has shifted completely with No Man's Sky, where sadly creator Sean Murray has ended up reducing the number of appearances he was making, assumedly putting the game back in the oven until the team had more to show other than 'just' discovering an entire galaxy. You can guarantee No Man's Sky will find its audience through the same open-world/galaxy-lovers of Elite: Dangerous, but with that game already proving that jetting off across the stars isn't all that great unless there are things to do every few minutes, you can spot the moans and groans a mile off.
