10 Hugely Beloved PlayStation Franchises Sony Must Bring Back

10. Sly Cooper

The first Sly Cooper game came out in 2002 and almost immediately became a cult classic. It was known for its striking cartoon graphics and stylish charm, but the real genius lay its gameplay, combining stealth elements which felt both different and intuitive and impressively consistent mini-games. Its sequels built on the formula, adding a host of new characters with their own unique styles, and building a reputation for remarkably varied action and clever, intricately-crafted levels. On the old-gen consoles there was quite simply nothing like it. After an eight year hiatus, the series was brought back in 2013 with Thieves In Time on the PS Vita and PS3. It retained the unique humour and charm and demonstrated the capabilities of this series on the next-gen consoles. A PS4 follow-up might seem like a no-brainer. It would look genuinely beautiful, benefit from multiplayer possibilities given from the series having a large and dedicated fanbase already. Most recently Sucker Punch made the unusual announcement that they aren't currently developing a sequel right now, but Sly isn't going to be away from screens for too long; there's an animated film currently in the works.
