10 Hugely Beloved PlayStation Franchises Sony Must Bring Back
6. Crash Bash
Fans of the Crash Bandicoot series have discussed a PS4 sequel for a while. However, Crash was a slightly by-the-books platformer - it had popular characters and a good sense of fun but wasn't that memorable or different from its peers to necessarily justify a reboot, especially not from series' creators Naughty Dog who are in a whole different league with The Last of Us and Uncharted 4. Crash Bash wasn't a platformer, but a collection of minigames featuring those characters, designed to be played with friends Mario Party-style. Players would compete in four-way games of soccer, play tennis with bombs, and in icy wrestling rings. It may not have been original, but it was certainly a whole bunch of fun. A remake for the next-generation could be a winner. Expand the game and secure the rights to the likes of Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank, and it could be a huge hit amongst a generation that still goes wild for Smash Bros. Naughty Dog doesn't sound keen to rejuvenate the series in any form, instead team member John Scherr says their work is "more grown-up" now. But if Nintendo have proved one thing, it's that a game doesn't need to be dark, serious, or important to sell by the bucketload.
