10 Hugely Loveable Gaming Bosses We Didn't Want To Kill

3. Darth Malak - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Malak is a former Jedi who, along with player character Revan, turned to the dark side and became a Sith Lord after taking down the Mandalorians. Darth Malak's activities only get more depraved from there, as he ends up turning on his own mentor and leaving Revan for dead. This is where the game begins, as we take control of an amnesia-riddled Revan, while we later discover that his memories were altered by the Jedi to ensure that he was longer a threat to them. Depending on the actions the player takes throughout the game, Revan will end up on either the light or dark side of the force, but the end-game remains unchanged: killing Malak. Doing so for the light side results in the simple destruction of the Sith, while opting for the dark side has Revan taking Malak's place as the all-powerful Dark Lord of the Sith. Though Malak was an evil, evil man, his delicious villainy made him a Star Wars character who would have slotted into any of George Lucas' movies with ease. His death was inevitable by the end of the game, but his peerless ambition and descent from vengeful good guy to flat-out, card-carrying villain was great fun to behold.
