9. Guitar Hero

There was a time where everyone had their own Guitars for Guitar Hero and were happily 'rocking out' ( A.K.A smashing plastic buttons) to classics from Metallica, Foo Fighters, DragonForce and more. The first trilogy of games did so well that publishers Activision were able to get away with packaging spin-off games that focused on just one band, including games for Aerosmtih and Van Halen.

But soon enough Rock Band entered the scene and began causing issues for Guitar Hero. This was the first case of bad luck Guitar Hero would face, as both franchises were constantly trying to one up each other, which led to a whole range of peripherals being made for different instruments, such as DJ turntables! Eventually there was just too many rhythm games on the market and both franchises ended up falling into obscurity.

Until 2015, where Guitar Hero made a comeback with Guitar Hero: Live! But despite the game being pretty well received by critics and fans it just didn't sell very well, and the franchise has returned to dormancy. The thing is, a new Guitar Hero game would probably be welcomed now that the series has been away for a little while. The games had a cool art style, were quite funny and now they could focus on newer releases.

The only issue is that it might be hard for Guitar Hero to stand out when both Beat Saber and Clone Hero are currently holding everyone's attention when it comes to rhythm based games.
