10 Iconic Video Game Franchises That Must Come To Current Gen Consoles

8. Gotham City Imposters

The kooky, costumed world of Gotham City Imposters burst onto our screens far more recently that most other mentions on this list. However, it's a game I miss dearly after being left to gather dust on the marketplace shelves of the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The definition of fun, GCI was an entertaining display of fast chaotic gameplay, featuring an arsenal full of crudely manufactured weapons and gadgets that you would use to annihilate the opposition. Playing as either one of the Bats or Jokerz, this first person multiplayer-only shooter was a breath of fresh air in comparison to the super serious worlds of Call Of Duty and Battlefield which were dominating the market at the time.

Although the upcoming Battlefield 1 does look rather impressive, if a Gotham City Imposters sequel was announced for the Xbox One and PS4, I wouldn't have to think twice about which I'd rather play. Sticking with the comedic art style of the original would have to be a necessity, but imagine if the GCI world was resurrected with visuals similar to that of Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive.

It's safe to say the end result would look fantastic.

To make the current gen adaptation worthwhile, developers would have to introduce more weapons, maps, character types and perhaps even a single player campaign - even other gangs of imposters based off of iconic characters like Two Face, Riddler and Penguin.

Considering everybody already hates Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare with the fury of the gods, games like Overwatch - and now Gotham City Imposters - is the way forward.
