10 Iconic Video Game Scores That'll Give You Goosebumps

3. Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night - Michiru Yamane

In something of a departure from the last couple of entries, with their heart-wrenching vocals and orchestral magic, we come to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Not that it's in any way inferior to the previous entries - quite the opposite, in fact. With any game in the Castlevania franchise, there are certain things you just expect to feature in the soundtrack. For one, you know you're in for guitar riffs, and not just any old guitar riffs, riffs so sick they'd make even Dracula blush. Symphony of the Night delivers these in spades.

Next up, you know you're going to get haunting, Gothic, organ music. Again, this isn't about the kind of organ music your Granny used to listen to in the village church on a cold, English Sunday morning, but absolute rocking belters which perfectly compliment the visuals on display in the PlayStation classic.

The track Dracula's Castle perhaps serves to demonstrate both of these things best, as it moves through the familiar Castlevania theme, all the while building layer upon layer of electronic organ, drums, and kick-ass guitar riffs, culminating in a track which is so unmistakably Castlevania, its not even funny.

An absolutely legendary OST from beginning to end.
