10 Iconic Video Game Weapons (That Actually Suck)
7. Hidden Blade - Assassin's Creed
Ever since Ubisoft launched the Assassin's Creed series back in the winter of 2007, the Hidden Blade has become the iconic weapon for the franchise.
The tool that no Assassin over the course of human history could leave home without, Hidden Blades have come in all shapes and sizes throughout the franchise but have all generally followed the same formula of being a subtle retractable blade strapped to a player's wrist that they can use to stealthily take down an enemy with.
However, pretty much since the first two titles in the series, it seems like Ubisoft have been on a mission to make this iconic weapon more and more obsolete in their games. Games like Brotherhood and Black Flag featured a far more action-packed take to combat which made swords and pistols a better option for players, whilst the likes of Revelations and Assassin's Creed 3 completely did away with the traditional designs of the hidden blades entirely.
And even as the Assassin's Creed series has moved more and more towards the world of RPGs, the inclusions of the Hidden Blades has continued to feel far more like a token nod to the history of the franchise, rather than something a player would look to play around as they might have done before.
