5. Finishing Dark Souls For The First Time

So you€™ve made your way to the final boss of Dark Souls. After already slugging your way through seemingly impossible sections like Sen€™s Fortress, Smough and Ornstein and even the buggy as hell Blight Town, the end is in sight - yet you€™ve still got one more ridiculous challenge to face. However once you€™ve actually finished the game you€™ll no doubt be full of conflicting emotions. The joy that you€™ve finally beat the legendarily hard title, the sorrow that you€™ve seen everything the game has to offer, and the emptiness that you might never play anything as hauntingly engrossing ever again all hits you as the credits roll. Although a few games boast defining endings that stay with you forever, it€™s rare that a title ever imbues the player with such a conflicting feeling of satisfaction and despair like the ending of the original Dark Souls.
