When arriving at Beacon Mental Hospital to investigate a massacre, detective Sebastian Castellanos is soon transported to a nightmarish landscape alongside his partner Joeseph Oda and rookie detective Juli Kidman.

Sebastian is frequently separated from his colleagues throughout the games, with their occasional reunions pushing the plot at key points. However, it’s his brief encounters with Kidman which give rise to some of the biggest mysteries of the game. At one point, she was spotted trying to kill the innocent Leslie, claiming to be following orders to do so. Why she was doing this and who gave these orders, though, are questions that wouldn't be answered in the main game.

For these burning questions to be resolved, we'd need to play The Assignment and The Consequence expansions to drop.
