10 Incredible RPGs You Probably Missed

9. Lufia II: Rise Of The Sinistrals (SNES, DS)

29bb9da8-659c-44e0-8057-34c51e2c9251 Despite this game actually being €˜a sequel€™, the original was never released anywhere except in Japan, so most people can only even play the second one and that€™s for the better too. The second one is the better of the two and has such a mass assortment of puzzles that I STILL have not finished this game despite starting it a few years ago. Specifically the most notable mention goes to the purely awesome €˜Ancient Cave€™ which is one of the first introductions of an entirely randomly generated dungeon of so many floors that I€™ve made it to floor 50 and still had more floors beyond that (and is really the pinnacle of the game). The original game was done with a turn based battle system similar to Final Fantasy games, but when it was remade for the DS a few years ago it was switched to a straight action battle system. Although I recommend getting the original, if you have problems playing some of the older games (since the original is on the SNES), then there isn€™t too many changes to the DS version despite better graphics and the different battle system. But be aware that it isn€™t like Final Fantasy, as it focuses more on intense puzzle solving in dungeons and various places and less on the battles. If there is any RPG you pick up, it would be this one as it offers a great challenge and with the remake also makes it easier to find.
