10 Incredible Sequels That Came From Terrible Video Games

10. Red Steel 2

In what was supposed to be the Wii€™s killer app for hardcore gamers, Red Steel's failure seemed to prove all of the Nintendo naysayers right. Releasing with poor controls and clunky gameplay, the original seemed to signal the demise of mature third party titles on a console that had come under fire for pandering too much to the casual market. But then Red Steel 2, after careful and worthwhile time spent in development, released to set the record straight. Attempting to solve all the problems of the original, this sequel not only addressed all of the previous game€™s shotcomings but found its own unique voice and a distinct personality that allowed it to stand out as one of the biggest and best must have Nintendo Wii titles. With RS 2, Nintendo finally had a crowning achievement that proved €˜real games€™ could be made for the console, and that the Wii could provide epic and exhilarating experiences that wouldn€™t be found anywhere else on the market.
