10 Incredible Sequels That Came From Terrible Video Games
8. Just Cause 2
In another case of a bunch of great ideas being poorly executed in the finished product, Just Cause didnt quite live up to the pre-release promise of high-octane exploration and engrossing tropical sandbox action. Although the game-world proved to be actually rather expansive and gave players with a variety of ways to get around, the main drawback of the original was that the whole map felt lifeless and empty, and as a result the game just didn't feel like it had much depth to it. Fortunately for players, the second instalment arrived a few years later full to the brim with exotic places to see and cathartic things to do. With the addition of the grappling hook, it boasted some of the most frantic and fast-paced open world action ever seen in a video game. The immense scale of the title and the fluidity of the movement meant that the simple act of getting around was hugely enjoyable in itself, and when you were fully able to master all of the subtleties in the controls, some of the combos you could string together in simply had to be seen to be believed.
