10 Incredible Things We Learned From Gamescom

6. The Sims 4 Revealed

The Sims 4 I'll be honest and say that I wasn't blown away by the trailer for The Sims 4, but it's nevertheless a huge announcement from Maxis, and will surely be one of the biggest releases of 2014. Though the game visually doesn't look greatly enhanced from The Sims 3, Maxis are introducing a number of featured to improve the versatility of the experience; walls can now be manipulated with just one click, and similarly, Sims can be "molded" as though they were clay to suit your specifications. The one thing above all others, though, that Maxis are pushing is emotion; their intention is to make this the most engrossing Sims game yet, as your Sims react not just to the immediate actions of the other characters, but clothing codes, and even memories of prior incidents. Also, you'll be able to share your creations online, though Maxis was quick to stress that, in the wake of the SimCity debacle, The Sims 4 will not require an Internet connection to play.
