10 Incredible Things We Learned From Gamescom

2. PS4 User Interface Revealed

Ps4 If there's one thing Sony has held back on showing us, it is certainly the PS4's user interface; we've seen mock-up versions of it before, but at Gamescom, we saw what seemed to be a more intuitive and authentic system. Sony President Shuhei Yoshida showed off the system essentially from boot, as you select a profile from a notably more streamlined interface, and after signing in, you're able to speedily scroll through your games, trophies, friends list, and quickly start a game if you so wish. Especially impressive is the ease with which you can access live video streams of your friends playing games, and with one press of a button, you're able to dive seamlessly into that very game (assuming you own it, and it's compatible). Finally, we saw how easy it is to use the Share function, to take a video or picture and upload it with a caption.
