Star Wars as a franchise has a massive catalogue of video games, so it's unsurprising that one or two may have flown in under the radar. Yes, KotOR was an RPG masterpiece and Battlefront can hang with the big boys in the FPS world, but the discussion around some of the other titles set in a galaxy far, far away never really got off the ground.

Enter Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Released in 2002, its mouthful of a title does no justice to the brilliant piece of gaming on offer.

Players took control of Kyle Katarn as he fights Dark Jedi Desann using all the Star Wars favourites; lightsaber, blaster and Force powers. The single-player campaign boasted a fun, if fairly standard, Star Wars story, but the multiplayer was really where Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast shined.

With a range of multiplayer stalwarts on offer such as Team Deathmatch, Free-for-All and Capture the flag, players could customise the game settings and their force powers to create unique matches with a host of Star Wars characters.

Now all but faded into video game history, it's a game that truly deserves to be remembered. May the Force be with you, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast.
