10 INCREDIBLE Video Game Sequels Everyone Ignores
4. Black & White 2
We all remember Lionhead Studios' flagship franchise, Fable, and we all remember Peter Molyneux's ridiculous promises about the games he was developing, so the Black & White series was mostly dismissed before it started, because why would we believe Peter after some of the whoppers he'd sold us? We're going to feel like Gods, are we Peter? Of course we are.
When Black & White 2 was released in 2005, it was actually a really solid game. A god game with real-time stategy elements, B&W2 gave us ultimate power over nature and a village full of subjects, as well as a giant anthropomorphic animal that did our bidding in whatever way we ordered it to.
The object of Black & White 2 is to defeat the Aztec Empire, first having to conquer the Norse and the Japanese people as some sort of omnipotent warm-up.
It was a game that was well implemented and made a handful of improvements upon its predecessor, such as an improved HUD to help players make sense of the world they were in charge of, and an improved "miracle" system.
Black & White 2 gave fans of god games or RTS titles a lot to digest, although it's most likely obscured by dust in their collections by now.
