10 INCREDIBLE Video Game Sequels Everyone Ignores
3. Two Worlds II
Two Worlds II is a game that many are aware of for all the wrong reasons.
Its predecessor, Two Worlds, has become something of a joke for a number of reasons, not the least of which was its absolutely laughable voice acting, and Two Worlds II has always been unfairly lumped in alongside it by merit of its name alone.
Two Worlds II actually marked a massive improvement in almost every conceivable way. It expanded upon the things that Two Worlds had done right, and fixed the many, many issues that players had had by updating the mechanics and playing on some of the franchise's obvious comedic value.
While Two Worlds II boasts a decent single-player story, its multiplayer is what truly sets it apart. With an Adventure mode in which players accomplish objectives co-operatively that featured seven unique maps, and a Village mode in which players could build and upgrade structures to create their own village, Two Worlds II really tried to do something different with its multiplayer. There were even other, smaller multiplayer modes and games to be enjoyed, putting a much larger emphasis on multiplayer than is typical of an RPG.
A commercial success, Two Worlds II managed to right a lot of the wrongs that Two Worlds committed, but it still doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
