10 Incredibly Depressing Video Game Stories From 2014
7. Titanfall Arriving To Zero Fanfare
Speaking of Titanfall, is anybody out there still playing? Respawn Entertainment's first major title as a studio born from select members of Infinity Ward was something hardcore fans of first-person shooters were initially waiting on with baited breath. It wasn't long though before the hype seemed to dissipate almost overnight, as not only could the usually rabble-rousing Call Of Duty not provide any thrills this year, but Titanfall itself looked more like a mod for an existing title than anything brand new. Factor in that fact gameplay was vastly more enjoyable when you were out of the titular Titan mechs, and even the core power-dynamic of calling them into battle was instantly broken. Perhaps with Titanfall 2 we'll see a more enjoyable experience with a much more enticing art aesthetic, but sadly what's on offer here pales in comparison to everything from Wolfenstein to Destiny.
