4. Far Cry 3 - Knife Fight With Hoyt
You know, poor old protagonist Jason's been through a lot to get to this point. In the lead up to this final showdown, you have been undercover in Hoyt's trafficking industry along with your new ally, Sam. So, when Hoyt reveals he knows who you are after stabbing Sam in the throat right in front of you during a game of poker, you are forced to play on and if you lose a hand (of poker, of course), then you lose a finger. After witnessing such graphic content it's time for the final boss battle, boy oh boy this should be good, such an epic game needs an epic finale, all of the emotions are running high here and it's so tense! Oh dear, it's a quick-time event knife fight. As if that wasn't bad enough, you've already had to go through this twice previously in the story, so it isn't even anything new. Instead of a final battle of passion and primal instincts we have to focus on what the next button we press is, and if you hit the wrong button then you die and have to go again. QTEs are a real pet-peeve of mine and really this entire list could be made up of them (but I'm not that lazy). The final boss battle should NEVER be a chore and I had much higher expectations from this game, such a waste of a scene with so much promising build.
