10 Infuriating Boss Moments That Make You Question Life Itself

9. Egg Saucer (Sonic Advance 2)

Sonic Advance 2 was certainly a smash hit on the Gameboy Advance, following the typical Sonic formula with updated graphics and game mechanics. Like always, the bosses were usually ludicrous machines with extravagant features just to defeat our spiky protagonist. In the first encounter with the machine, the player has the added bonus of taking on Knuckles, who seems pretty intent on taking out Sonic as usual. This boss is definitely a handful, as the player must attack two different sections while an indestructible hand does its best to wipe them out. The player first has to take out a laser which shoots a pretty wide beam that is near impossible to dodge, while also avoiding the seemingly benign hand. After that, the player then has to strike the pilot chamber itself, all while the hand moves sporadically around it. After the laser is destroyed, the hand begins to take wild swings to knock Sonic aside. If hit while the hand is making a 360 rotating motion Sonic will die regardless of if he had rings or not. Because of the hand's wide range, it is pretty hard to dodge, and the player will most likely die alot in their futile quest to defeat the overcompensated unicycle. Difficulty Rating: 7 - The boss does take a while to get used to, but once you learn when to attack, it becomes less challenging. After taking on the Egg Saucer for a while, you might want a giant hand to smack some sense into you for playing the game for so long.
