10 Infuriating Video Game Boss Battles That Made You Rage Quit

8. Oryx - Destiny

Destiny Kings Fall Raid Kill Oryx Feature
Bungie

The Taken King may have been a much needed breath of fresh air into the lung's of Destiny, but the King's Fall raid that came along side it, and it's final boss Oryx, is a blight on its existence.

Now Oryx is a unique entry to this list because he's the only one where you're going to need the help of others - that is, unless you're some Destiny savant who laughs in the face of danger. Your reliance on others however, is exactly where the frustration and anger of taking on Oryx stems.

The fight with Oryx himself isn't all that hard - if you have a team that knows what they are doing. Anyone who plays Destiny knows how difficult it can be from time to time to round up a group of six that vibes and is effective. As you go at the raid with your ragtag group of randoms, and as the frustration of having failed numerous times throughout the raid weighs heavy, it will only get heavier as the battle with Oryx starts.

Oryx is a boss that requires a tremendous amount of team work and communication. One small mess up can ruin the plans and cause the team to be wiped out in an instant. It's a battle where you need to do so many seemingly easy steps, and then just do them over and over again without fail. Even with the taste of victory on the tip of your tongue, that sixth, seventh, even eighth fail will all but have you screaming at your team for their incompetence before pressing that power button on your console faster than you can say "guardian down."
