10 Insane Reasons That Video Games Were Missing Features

2. The Game Isn't Balanced For Lean - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Shortly before the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward confirmed that the PC version of the game would strangely lack a feature fans had quite reasonably come to expect - the ability to lean.

In an online chat following the announcement, an understandably miffed fan asked the team why they removed such a basic feature that's been a staple of the PC releases ever since the series' inception.

At this point, one of the game's designers, Mackey McCandlish, made the legendary, instantly meme-worthy response that Modern Warfare 2 "is not balanced for lean."

Players were both baffled and amused at such an odd explanation for lean being removed from the game, when in reality McCandlish was likely trying to curtly explain that lean was removed from the PC release for the sake of parity with the console versions, to ensure that PC players didn't get an unfair advantage while playing online.

All the same, 15 years on, Call of Duty fans still fondly bring up this poorly thought-out turn of phrase every chance they possibly get.
