10 Insane Video Game Mechanics You Won't Believe Are Real
2. Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015
Avert your gaze now for this one as it’s very much not safe for work.
Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015, developed and released by Marcbenx, is ludicrous and light-hearted proof that some people can make a game about anything. Selecting your father-and-son duo at the start of the game, the goal of the title is to rack up as high a streak as possible by reuniting the child with the correct dad over and over.
Pitfalls such as puddles, wet floor signs and curtains will make this fast paced Dad-finding adventure progressively more difficult as you settle into the challenge and somehow forget the absurdity of it all.
Clearly it’s all done in good taste and with a sense of humour, and the game’s early 8bit art style in the vein of Atari or Commodore makes this one pretty unlikely to offend from an actual visual perspective. That being said, the concept is just so strange that it was a necessary addition to any list such as this.
It's the kind of silly, well-meaning indie game you can expect to find on Steam. Unsurprisingly its light-hearted tone and simple but addictive gameplay have garnered it an “overwhelmingly positive” response.
