10 Insanely Good Free Switch Games
2. Paladins
Paladins: Champions of the Realm should be familiar to everyone who has played a non-Nintendo console within the last few years. This game came out two years ago, free-to-play from its release, and was available on all platforms. The Xbox and PlayStation stores regularly promoted this game in my experience, and the countless hours that I played of it back on the Xbox One were thoroughly enjoyable.
Paladins is a team-based first-person shooter. From an initial look at this game, it can seem like a clone of games such as Overwatch and Team Fortress 2. Even if that were the case, getting a game like that for free is a great deal. However, Paladins brings a lot to the table that the other games don’t. First off, its array of champions is enormous, with 45 of them to date and more to be released giving the game a 13 playable character lead over Overwatch as it stands today. Furthermore, there are four distinct categories of hero with systems in place to create a balanced team which existed long before Overwatch’s role-queue.
This entry could go on forever, comparing Paladins to Overwatch to TF2, but it all comes down to the fact that regardless of preferences Paladins is a fun game and a great addition to the Switch’s library.
