10 Kart Racing Games You Won't Believe Exist

7. Pac-Man World Rally

Considering this game came out in 2006, that would make Pac-Man - who debuted in 1980 - one of the only characters on this list who would actually be old enough to drive.

Pac-Man World Rally, or just Pac-Man Rally if you live in Europe, is available on PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo Game Cube, and PC. An Xbox version of the game was in development, but got scrapped, although a demo version exists as part of Pac-Man World 3.

The game combines tropes of the kart racer with signature elements of - what else - Pac-Man, including fruit-based power-ups and the ability to turn your opponents into ghosts and eat them as a giant, Pac-Man shaped car.

There are 14 playable characters and 15 playable tracks, as well as a battle mode similar to the "coin" and "balloon" battles in Mario Kart.

Metacritic gave this game 54 out of 100, however the user reviews on Metacritic were much better, coming in with an average of 8.1 out of 10.

I guess nostalgia is more powerful if you grew up in the 80s.
