10 LEGO Video Games That Need To Happen

9. Transformers

Even if you never played with Hasbro's robots in disguise growing up, chances are you've heard of them. Through a never-ending wave of new toys, comic books, television series, video games, the ride at various Universal Studios parks and movies both animated and live-action, Transformers is a franchise that is undoubtedly more popular today than Hasbro likely ever imagined it would be back in 1984. Considering TT Games tends to gleefully riff on the goofier aspects of the franchises they license without ever letting their clear love of them get overshadowed, seeing them have the opportunity to play with the Transformers mythology -- rife with more than enough goofy material -- would be quite the pleasure. From the underlying logic behind the concept itself to the four Michael Bay efforts, TT could run wild parodying the franchise's weaker points while celebrating how and why it's loved across the world. Unfortunately, with Hasbro and Lego competing in the same business, the chances of ever seeing this happen are slim. Hasbro's Lego-esque toy line Kre-O kicked off their own Transformers line back in 2011 and, for now, that's as close as Optimus and the rest are getting to taking Lego form. That said, if Kre-O ever fails -- which it could, given Hasbro's previous Built to Rule attempt -- Hasbro could weigh the benefits of teaming up with Lego and TT to give fans a big, brick-based love letter to the franchise and its fans.
