10 Lengthy Video Games That Were Absolutely Obliterated By Speedrunners
6. Minecraft
Minecraft's brand of block-building creation has achieved an immense following. By offering a seemingly endless amount of creativity and replay-ability, there's a reason this sandbox has swept the gaming landscape.
Solo players however have a different task on their hands. The game's primary single-player mode, survival, starts the player out with nothing and tasks you with defeating the Ender Dragon.
To do so however, requires a long list of tasks; first you'll need to enter the Nether to gather specific resources, then it's time to open the end portal and finally your avatar needs to be powered up with supplies and enchantments to face the final boss.
Finding the end portal and tackling the Ender Dragon normally takes many hours of exploring. Some players can do it in less than half an hour, shrinking what would take many hours to mere minutes. The latest and best run was uploaded by Dream in June 2020 as he bested survival mode in twenty two minutes and six seconds; a record that's unlikely to be beaten anytime soon.
