10 Lost Video Game Characters You Didn't Realise Came Back

3. Prince Tricky In Star Fox Assault

This is a bit of a double entry, because not only did Prince Tricky surprisingly reappear after Star Fox Adventures, but he was also intended to have been the same species/character family as the triceratops in Diddy Kong Racing! If you’ve played Star Fox Adventures, you’ll know that Prince Tricky is an absolute nightmare.

He’s incessant, like Navi if she was an English Bulldog weighing 400lb and had the voice of Angelica from Rugrats. Simply put, he’s not a very enjoyable companion to endure for an entire game, screeching from the sidelines that he wants a fresh GrubTub Fungus or to play fetch whilst Fox is in the middle of a fight with three velociraptor soldiers.

So it comes as a bit of a genuine surprise to hear he actually comes back, during a later mission in Star Fox Assault - as his planet’s patriarch, no less - and is still wearing his honorary Star Fox member badge.

Even more surprisingly is that Fox seems genuinely happy to see him, instead of having disturbing post-traumatic flashbacks of intentionally throwing his ball off a cliff, watching him leap off after it, and teleporting back immediately.

Chilling.
