10 Magical Items In Dungeons And Dragons That Every Party Should Have
6. Winged Boots
After the magical fortresses and the ring of ultimate power,
winged boots may seem a bit boring. However, while your DM probably won’t give
you powerful items at the beginning of the game, these can be given at fairly
low levels. When a player wears these boots, they gain flying speed equal to
their walking speed. The boots store up to four hours of flight time and regain
two hours of this every 12 hours. You can use this flight time at your leisure,
you can only use one-minute periods if you wish. Be careful though, because if
your flying when the flight time runs out, then you’re heading back to earth a
lot faster than you came up.
This item can be really useful, especially to a low-level party. Whether you’re brave adventurers saving someone from a tower, or vile thieves stealing from the manor house, flying is always a useful attribute. A party can get a lot of fun and creative uses out of these, just remember that if your push it too much, the DM might start mysteriously causing owlbears to actually fly.
