Mounts are quite common in D&D, after all, they can be brought for a relatively cheap price. They help you and your party in a number of ways, such as allowing you to travel faster, carrying excess loot, and having something for your bloodthirsty barbarian to become inexplicitly attached too. There are some more exotic mounts available though, one of the most famous of these is the Carpet of Flying.

This magical mat follows the order of whoever uses its command word, hovering and flying in any direction up to 30 feet from the user. These carpets come in various sizes with larger ones being slower but able to carry more people and supplies. While it may seem like going for the fastest one is the most ideal, there’s nothing better than you and three of your buddies loading up a noble’s silverware and flying off into the sunset.

As mentioned, there are many different mounts that are available but nothing is quite as adaptable and useful as the flying carpet. It’s like the van of the D&D world, they will laugh at you until your mate needs help moving to Waterdeep.
